My black and white paintings are my canvas sculptures. As a sculptor may begin with a block of marble, I begin with a jar of white paint, which is applied to every inch of the canvas, creating a surface which is full of texture and possiblity. Mostly figurative, forms then come to life with the use of thick black lines of paint. Through my canvas sculptures, I try to convey my reverence for life and the pursuit of joy.
